Lazy day IN SPACE

American Apparel bodysuit, Topshop jeans, Jefferey Campbell shoes. Can you smell the capitalism? At least I have cool hair.
Been a while since I did one of these outfit post things, so I figured I might give it a whirl. Trying to communicate casual space vibez. IMPORTANT UPDATE: I bleached my hair. Definitely a great life choice - I definitely feel a whole lot more striking than I did with a more natural blonde (and it was getting darker in the rays [which TOTALLY exist (that was an example of sarcasm, in case you missed it)] of the east coast sun). Damn, that was some intense bracketing.

What kind of blogger would I be without a close-up of my JC's? OH GOD KILL ME NOW I'M ALREADY A STEREOTYPE
All snark aside, I am all about these shoes. Got them super on salesies at Karmaloop and they are kinda permanently attached to my feet. Great for everyday, all day. My version of flats?

This is what it looks like when you hitch hike in a nebula.

To add to the space chick vibez, my mommy sent me this super cute star bracelet. It is very appropriately jingly.

Happy Birthday, Darling

Here's a happy 32nd to one of my favorite humans, at least in my pretend mind-place.

Thanks. Like everyone else on the internet who loves Conor is saying, we love you very, very, very, very much.
Look at this sweet bb <3

These are two pretty perfect songs... the first one never fails to make me cry (sad death obsessed teenage tears!) (embarrassing).
The other one is just appropriate for the occasion.

Gonna try to get back on the blogging horse; just not sure that purely fashion blogging is really my schtick. This inertia is pretty well explained by posts by Fashion Pirate and Hipster Musings. Maybe I'll start talking about things that are inspiring my work, making my life exciting? Not sure yet.

Weekend Tunage: Crush On You by Lil Kim

My love for Lil Kim grows stronger every day and this song/video just intensifies it. I mean, the amazing late-nineties dancer outfits? Aaliyah cameo? And I didn't even start talking about Lil Kim's outfits; think colorful wigs matching her clothes/surroundings, and fur and bikini combinations.
So perfect.

Tropical T-givin

Happy Thanksgiving from Florida!

Me, Emmy, and Missah. I'm wearing my Zac Posen Dress, Emily an Anthro dress, and Missah is her mom's dress from the 80's!

Been having such a great time with my best friends... look at all of that cuteness. LOOK AT IT.
Been taking like a bajillion photos - I've really been digging the pink and mint green and tropical vibes. Here's a little photo of one of Melissa's shelves in her room. So good right?

Weekend Tunage: Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell by The Stooges

This song has been stuck in my head all day... nothing better than the Stooges. I'm definitely a sucker for Raw Power too; how can you not love Iggy on the cover in all that makeup?

But half of what makes Iggy and the Stooges so great are their performances. So here's a fucking amazing and important one from a music festival in Cincinnati in 1970:

Best part = when the silly announcer says "that's peanut butter!". Hehe. Anyways, this weekend has been filled with painting, Stooges listening, and reading the Hunger Games (soooo good. Really.) Right now I'm looking forward to my thanksgiving in Florida! Hope everyone has a good holiday :)

I been thinkin bout my doorbell. when you gonna ring it?

You know those days when you really feel great in what you're wearing? Today is one of those days for sure. A White Stripes color palette is something that's always worth coming back to. Plus, the polka-dots totally make me feel like minnie mouse :)

H&M polka-dot dress as Skirt, Marc Jacobs belt, Giovannio sailor hat, Gap shirt, Jeffrey Campbell shoes.

But the best part of all is that I just got my white leather jacket in the mail! MY GOD IS IT AMAZING. I bought it with the intention of customizing it with some pink pop stars, but now I am kinda liking the plain white. Oh no, the decisions!

The thing is, the jacket is such great quality (and a relatively good price at $100) that I'm thinking I may save up for another one so I can have one plain and one totally tricked out (yes... I may have a leather addiction...).

In other news, I'm working on a new painting, as well as trying to get everything done before Thanksgiving. I'm going out to Florida to stay with Melissa for the break... cannot wait to get me to the land of sun, alligators, and old folk!

Weekend Tunage: Tears Dry on Their Own by Amy Winehouse

Thinking about the passing of Lucian Freud has gotten my thinking about the death of another great this year. This is definitely one of my favorite Amy songs... the video isn't amazing, but her beehive never looked better.
